The world's energy will meet in İzmir at WENERGY Expo 2024
Izmir, the renewable energy capital of Turkey, is preparing to host the Wenergy Expo - Clean Energy Technologies Fair from May 9-11, 2023. Under the theme "The World’s Energy Meets in Izmir," the fair will open its doors at Fuarizmir, with the "Wenergy'23 Clean Energy and Technologies Conference" held simultaneously, featuring leading industry experts as speakers. Izmir is one of the pioneering cities in the fight against the climate crisis, and the municipality places great importance on clean and renewable energy sources. As a reflection of this commitment, the city will host the Wenergy - Clean Energy Technologies Fair in May. The mayor, Tunç Soyer, highlighted that they are implementing several initiatives to reduce energy consumption and increase the use of renewable energy, such as installing solar energy systems on rooftops and producing electricity from waste in integrated waste management facilities. The city is also working on plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve net-zero carbon by 2050. As part of these efforts, Izmir has the largest electric vehicle fleet for public transportation in Turkey. The municipality is actively involved in sustainability projects, including solar energy, wind energy, and energy storage, and aims to inspire other cities with their actions. Simultaneously with the fair, the Wenergy'23 Clean Energy and Technologies Conference will gather the world’s leading experts, offering a platform for knowledge exchange and discussions on clean and sustainable energy, green agreements, climate crisis, energy policies, and the international trade contributions of the energy sector. The Wenergy Expo will provide an opportunity for energy professionals, public institutions, energy investors, engineering companies, and academic representatives to meet. Exhibitors will showcase the latest products and technologies in the energy sector, and B2B meetings will facilitate connections between global investors and companies. The event is expected to be a major hub for both local and international trade, allowing participants to explore innovative energy solutions and contribute to the global energy market's growth.
